Last Thursday the first ever Lacrosse umpiring course took place at Pipers Corner. Ten girls from Year 11 – Year 13 participated in the course given by Ann Hutchings, who is a highly qualified and experienced umpire.

Earlier this term L6 students Alex Stewart- Long and Hannah Wilson were fortunate enough to be able to represent Pipers Corner on the LFA (Lessons from Auschwitz) educational trip to Poland. Along with students from other Buckinghamshire schools the girls spent time visiting the Auschwitz camps – an experience which both girls found very powerful.

Pipers girls took to the catwalk on Friday as Penn House staged a Recycled Fashion Show. With an imaginative use of lots of different recyclable materials including newspaper and off-cuts of fabric the girls certainly proved that you can make beautiful things out of what may initially seem like rubbish.

It was World Book Day on Thursday 4 March and Pipers girls celebrated books and reading throughout the week by taking part in a number of literary themed activities. Girls had the opportunity to take part in quizzes, a design a bookmark competition and indulge in their passion for books with a second-hand book sale.

Girls in UV and Sixth Form competed in an Inter-House lacrosse tournament on Thursday lunchtime. All the girls demonstrated great spirit and pride for their houses. Even the girls that were not playing came and cheered their House and their friends on.

Over half-term a group of Pipers girls took to the Austrian slopes as they went on this year's Pipers Ski trip to Sportwelt Amande. The combination of crisp white snow and sunshine meant that the girls were lucky enough to enjoy almost perfect conditions throughout the whole trip.

Dramatic Dance Demonstration - 05/02/10

Girls in the Prep Department, along with dance students from the rest of the school put on an impressive evening of dance this week for family and friends. Demonstrating skills they had learnt in their lessons and their extra-curricular dance activities the performances ranged from ballet to modern. Pre-Prep girls had a wonderful treat on Monday lunchtime. Instead of having lunch as normal in the dining room they all went to the Food Technology Room for a fabulous party prepared for them by Year 10 girls studying GCSE Hospitality and Catering.

A committed and enthusiastic teacher (any discipline) is required from September 2010 to join our Senior Pastoral Team.
